BEEN SCENE showed good promise as a 3yo filly winning at Stony Creek and placing on a Saturday in town.

As sometimes happens, she didn't come up in her second preparation as a 4yo mare. After three flat runs which were well under par, she was sent to the paddock for a 3 month spell.

She returned to the stable in January and spent the first 6 weeks on the treadmill. "I really wanted to build up her backend as she was lacking muscle and tone behind. Working her on the incline really builds up the hindquarter muscles and she has thrived ever since".

Her trial at Cranbourne earlier in the month showed that she was nearing her best and she looked well placed for a big run in a 0-58 race at Moe on Anzac Day. Settling out the back, she stood the leaders a big start but rounded them up in the last 100m and won well.

The daughter of Bianconi was $45,000 purchase from the Inglis Melbourne Sale and has now won $60k in prize money for owners Phil Cooper, Peter Cooper, John Cooper, Steve and Sheila Gabrielson, Rob Fynmore,  Cheryl Milton, Snakepit Racing, Lance Forkgen, Philip Chun and Jim Bhujoharry.
