PATIENCE PAYS OFF FOR MACQUARIE

May 10, 2016

The stable rounded out April with wins to Been Scene at Moe and MACQUARIE MAGIC at Cranbourne.

It was great to see Macquarie Magic back in the winners circle after more than a year since his last win. He won his maiden at Yarra Valley in March 2015 but didn't come up in his following preparation.

"He had a few muscle niggles and I think he just needed some time to finish growing and maturing. He was having a real growth spurt last winter and needed time for his body to catch up. The extra time in the paddock has done him the world of good as he has come back in fine style" said Warren.

It was a first class ride by apprentice Jack Martin who pushed "Macca" through a needle eye opening on the corner. Jack has been doing some riding for the stable and is a talented young rider who still claims 2kg.

Congrats to Noel and Sue McFarlane from Newcastle who bought 'Macquarie Magic' at the a Magic Millions Sale after he was knocked down to JWR for $45k. It was a big pay night for the McFarlanes who not only receive the winners cheque but also a big fat $15k VOBIS GOLD cheque.
