The stable notched a winning double last Friday with AWAKENING winning at Geelong and BEEN SCENE winning again with a gutsy victory at Cranbourne.

Awakening was having his first start for the JWR stable after transferring from Ciaron Maher's late last year. Awakening is raced by Laurence Eales who has raced a number of stars over the years in his famous orange and black silks. Whilst this fella won't reach the heights of Melbourne Cup winner Shocking or multiple Group 1 winner Whobegotyou, he will be a handy horse over the winter.

"It was a good tough win. It was his first start for 6 months and he has more improvement to come. He is a good wet tracker and will run a strong mile. He is no star but he should win some more races over the winter months".

BEEN SCENE won first up at Moe and repeated the dose with another strong win at Cranbourne with Benny Melham on board.

"Benny hasn't ridden a winner for us for a while so it was overdue. It was an excellent ride. He could have got left napping before the turn but he got going at the right time just reeled in the leader".

Been Scene has been an excellent money spinner for her owners. She has now won three starts and over $80,000 in prize money. She is a great advertisement for the Vobis Scheme. The owners have won $35k in Super Vobis and Vobis Gold bonuses which is huge".
