We say farewell to one of JWR's favourite sons this weekend with stable stalwart DANGER CLOSE lining up for his final run for the stable at Stony Creek on Sunday.

He has been a terrific horse over many years notching up six wins and more than $240,000 in prizmoney in a career spanning 40 starts.

"It will be sad to see him go. He has been here his whole career and goes down as one of my all time favourite horses" said Jason Warren

"I bought him as a yearling for $35,000 which was a lot of money for a Written Tycoon back in those days and he has more than paid for himself over his career".

"He was just a horse in the early days. He took five runs to break his maiden an another year before he won his second race. At that point, I don't think any of us thought he would scale to the heights which he did".

"He gave us some great highs. His win in the Doveton Stakes was super but for me, I thought his win at Flemington on Anzac Day was his career high beating Lord of the Sky in a driving finish".

"Win, lose or draw, he heads to Queensland next week. He still has some good racing left in him and it's great that all his owners including myself will race him up there with Gary Duncan."

"First thing first, we have a race to win tomorrow. It is the weakest race he has contested for some time and I am expecting a big run. It would be a fairytale to see him bow out a winner".

Backstreet Lover has gone down by the narrowest of margins at her past two starts and is knocking on the door for a win.

She is down to run at Moonee Valley on Monday (Labour Day meeting) with a final decision to be made on Monday morning.

"The race has come up stronger that we expected so I am in two minds as to whether we should run. We may hold her back for an 1800m race at Sandown two days later which looks an easier assignment".

Wherever she lines up, Backstreet is sure to give a great sight.

We received a nice pedigree update this week for our stunning PER INCANTO x TINKERMIA filly which we bought at the Inglis Classic Sale.

The dam of this filly has now had one runner for one winner with her first foal (Tinkalicious) winning her maiden in NZ very impressively.

"I always get a bit nervous buying yearlings out of unproven dams so it was nice to see the older sister come out and get the job done. I know they have a good opinion of her over in New Zealand".

Our girl is currently enjoying a spell at Denistoun Park (see pictured below) and will be broken in next month. We have sold 60% so jump aboard before she is sold out.

We are holding our first ever Open Day on Saturday 25th of March at 10am. It will be a great chance for all our owners to come down and see their horses and also check out all our new yearlings which will be showcased throughout the morning. A bbq brunch and coffee will be laid out together with giveaways and other promotions. It promises to be a fantastic morning so keep the date free!
