The JWR Owners Christmas Party is always a fantastic event with pony rides and jumping castles for the kids and plenty of fine food, wine and beers for the grown ups. All the horses are looking magnificent and are looking forward to seeing all their loyal owners! If you haven't already RSVP'd, please do so today so we don't under cater.

Our 3yo fillies have been in sensational form this year and one of the best of them appears to be Backstreet Lover (cover picture) who won impressively at Sandown on Wednesday. She won with a leg in the air and looks a talented filly in the making. See story below.

We have some nice chances over the weekend. There are no certainties but they should all run extremely well and hopefully we can snare at least one winner.

Hipster Girl has been scratched from the Valley tonight in favour of running at Flemington tomorrow. Whilst her Flemington record does not read well (4:0:0), she has run some of her best races at 'Headquarters' including a 4th in the VRC Oaks and a 4th in the Edward Manifold Stakes.

She is coming off an excellent run at Sale and should be super competitive tomorrow in an open field. Owner Dave Gillies has been a wonderful supporter of the stable and it would be a huge result for him if Hipster could break through for a metro win. Good luck.

We don't usually like taking horses to Stawell and taking on the likes of Darren Weir and Terry O'Sullivan on their home turf. They are tough to beat down there so STRYKING LOVE and MATCH DAY will need to be at their very best to win.

STRYKING LOVE is coming off a terrific first up effort at Sale when she ran 5th in a strong maiden. She floated around in the straight so the winkers have been applied to straighten her out. If she re-produces that run, she is a good each way chance. MATCH DAY has been a frustrating horse. Tomorrow's race looks very weak on paper but he is a little shy of the winning post and is no good thing so punters be warned!

Not a Single Doubt 3yo filly PORSCHE BELLE (pictured) makes her debut at Cranbourne tomorrow night in a 1400m Fillies and Mares Maiden. She has been a slow maturer and has taken a while to hit her straps but she has shown good improvement in the last month as the distances have increased. She doesn't have a big turn of foot but she has a good cruising speed and is very professional so she's not without claims on Saturday night.

Street Cry filly BACKSTREET LOVER lived up to her big wraps with another commanding win at Sandown on Wednesday.

Given a beautiful ride by young apprentice Jye McNeil, Backstreet Lover kicked clear at the 100m to win with plenty in hand. "She is a big lump of a filly and I can't wait to see her at 1600m and 2000m" said Warren.

"She is bred to stay and she has the size and scope to suggest that she will appreciate ground. She has a staying pedigree and they way she relaxes in her races gives me plenty of confidence that she will excel over the longer trips.
