JWR FILLIES ON FIRE
Nov 26, 2015
This years crop of 3yo fillies is the strongest ever assembled at Denistoun Park. Zasorceress (Zabeel) and Orvassa (Equinao) are stakes fillies in the making whilst Backstreet Lover (Street Cry) and Lady Provocateur (Pins) won their debuts in great style last week and both look to have bright futures.
BACKSTREET LOVER DOESN'T DISAPPOINT
There were big wraps on BACKSTREET LOVER going into her debut at Cranbourne. She was backed in from 7-1 to 2-1 favourite after some impressive jumpouts.
The daughter of Street Cry didn't disappoint winning with a leg in the air and stamping herself as a filly to watch going forward. She was a $65k purchase for JWR at last years Melbourne Premier Sale and looks a cheap filly now.
She will most likely head to town in December for a 3yo fillies race before being set for some of the better staying races in the Autumn.
LADY PROVOCATEUR DOES IT EASILY
LADY PROVOCATEUR (pictured below) has a big future after her commanding win at Benalla. The former kiwi filly has always showed good ability on the track and it was fantastic to see her perform so well after a 4 hour road trip in 37 degree heat.
The daughter of Pins was purchased privately from New Zealand for $40k which looks to be money well spent. She is raced by Tom Dugdale and a new group of owners to the stable who are still pinching themselves after her debut win.
