After another good win on Friday night at Cranbourne, 5 year old Sebring mare UNLAWFUL has booked herself a ticket to Melbourne Cup Day. Whilst the 2 miles of the Melbourne Cup would pose no problems for this improving mare, she's not quite at that level and instead will line up in the Lavazza Long Black 2800m.

Everyone's realises that she'll go around at bolters odds on Cup Day but she certainly won't disgrace herself.  She will run out a strong 2800m and it will be a great day out for her owners. It's not too often that you have a runner on Cup Day, so it will be a big thrill for the owners.

Unlawful has turned around her form in the last month after going nearly a year without a win. "She showed good staying potential as a 4 year old and it looked like that she would develop into a city class stayer. She lost form, had some niggling leg issues and kept going foot sore. We changed her shoes 6 weeks ago and it has really turned her around" said Warren.

"She is the cleanest winded horse in our stable and she will only get better the further she goes so I can't wait to see her run over 2800m" said Warren.

Friday's win took Unlawful's prize money to $89,000 from 19 starts. She has been a terrific Vobis horse for her owners and she collected another $15k Vobis Gold Cheque on Friday night. It certainly pays to race Vobis qualified horses in Victoria with so many bonuses on offer.
