The Western Victorian town of Hamilton is not a frequent stomping ground for Jason Warren Racing.

But, sometimes you have to travel far and wide to get a winner and that was certainly the case yesterday with Fastnet Rock gelding KHAL DROGO. After running placings at Sale and Seymour, he looked a good thing down at Hamilton and won accordingly.

Ridden by Jye McNeil, Khal Drogo settled behind the leaders before taking control of the race on the corner. "He was still a little green and got a little lost when he hit the front so he will learn a lot from today. Jye said that he will be better once he gets out to 1400m and 1600m so we might push him out next start" said Warren.

Yesterdays win was a fantastic result for owner Alex Cartel who races Khal Drogo in his yellow and red horseshoe silks. The horse had 12 months off with knee surgery but Alex has stuck fat and it was a nice reward for his patience today. Alex has been a great supporter of the stable for many years having being involved with horses like Viking Turf Belle, Jayconi, Danger Close, Longchamp Belle etc.

German import Allano reeled off some slick sectionals in his first Australian start and goes into his second up run tomorrow a warming favourite. Tomorrow' races are at the Pakenham grass track after they meeting was relocated from Sandown.

"I don't think anyone missed his first up run. He flew late so hopefully he produces a similar performance tomorrow. He has trained on nicely and we are expecting a big show tomorrow. My only little concern is the second up hoodoo.  He showed terrific acceleration first up but I've seen these staying horses run below expectations second up when they race more dour. If he doesn't suffer any second up blues, he should take some beating!" said Warren.
