We had a real taste of spring weather at Denistoun Park this week with a couple of beautiful warm sunny days. The weather is certainly on the improve and the racing is also hotting up.

PURITAN proved last weekend that he is the real deal with a brave 4th in the Group 2 Danehill Stakes. He will take huge improvement from that run and will be a real contender in next week's Caulfield Guineas Prelude.

We have a relatively quiet weekend ahead with PARALLEL LINES are sole runner at Caulfield tomorrow.

This race will determine which way she goes for the rest of the spring. She won at Echuca and Cranbourne so tomorrow will tell us whether she’s up to this better class of fillies.

"She's come back in great order from her freshen up but tomorrow's run should really tighten her up and have her ready to peak for her second up run. If she can sneak into the placings tomorrow, it would be a great result but we'll be happy to see her hitting the line" said Warren.

"If she runs well, a race like the G2 Edward Manifold Stakes in 2 weeks wouldn't be out of the question. She is one of the cleanest winded horses in the stable and I think she'll enjoy getting over 1600m and possibly beyond".

Godspiel had one leg in the breeding barn going into her race on Wednesday. If she didn’t fire, she was off to stud but those plans have been shelved after a gutsy all the way win at Pakenham.

Ridden superbly by Jordan Childs, Godspiel had to pull out all stops to hold off the fast finishing Solar Burst.

We all thought that she had been beaten so there was plenty of cheering when her number went into the frame. She has been city placed on 4 occasions so it was about time the luck fell her way” explained Racing Manager Julian Hay.

The team at Denistoun Park deserve a big pat on the back for this win. She was getting iced twice daily to keep her fetlocks cool and she has been a regular visitor to the beach which has really paid off.

Sporting the Delbridge Racing silks, Godspiel was the 4th winner for Delbridge in the past 2 months. With Parallel Lines running tomorrow and exciting German stayer Allano going around next week, let's hope the winners keep flowing for Mark Leo's Delbridge Racing.

JWR's babies are up and about early in the season. Our Snitzel and Testa Rossa fillies have been named and will make their first public appearance at the Cranbourne trials on Monday.

The Suductress (Snitzel x Five Star Belle) and Miss Pistolaro (Testa Rossa x Lupara) will line up in Heats 4 and 5 respectively. Provided they trial well and come through in good shape, both will be heading to the early 2yo races in October.
