BIG BARON IS BACK

Mar 06, 2015

We keep saying it but it's another big weekend for the stable with horses going left right and centre. Danger Close takes on a hot field at Flemington, big Baron Archer heads up to the Murray for lucrative Vobis race whilst Stryking Love and Double Dee make the journey to South Australia for the Adelaide Cup meeting on Labour Day.

BARON ARCHER IS BACK

Baron Archer developed a cult like following after his unbeaten run last winter and we are hoping he can make it 4 straight wins at Echuca on Sunday. He lines up in the Murray River Gold Race which carries a $30k Vobis bonus on top of the $70k Prizemoney. We've got a big opinion of this fella and he will be there to win on Sunday. However, it's a big test as he has been off the scene for a while and tackles race fit horses first up over 1400m. Go Baron!

DANGER CLOSE AND SCHOFIELD TEAM UP

Unfortunately we couldn't get Froggy back from Singapore to ride Danger Close this weekend. We've tried Michael Walker and Nick Hall with no luck so it's now over to young gun Chad Schofield! The horse has freshened up nicely so lets hope he clicks with Chad.

12 MONTHS IN THE MAKING

Stryker filly Stryking Love was a cheap $25k purchase at last years Adelaide Magic Millions Sale. She was bought with one race in mind..Monday's 2yo Adelaide Magic Millions race worth $100k! Win, loose or draw, its been a victory in itself just getting her to the race. It's never easy delivering on such bold long term plans so well done to the whole team at JWR for getting her there in such great order. Stryking Love certainly isn't going over to make up numbers. She was good first up and will run a cheeky race on Monday.

With plenty of owners making the trip over, it's sure to be a fantastic day.

DOUBLE DEE ADELAIDE BOUND

At this stage, Double Dee will also be joining Stryking Love in Adelaide. She goes well first up and finds herself in a winnable race. It's certainly not an easy race with some handy local mares engaged but she should run a big race. If she handles the trip over and runs well on Monday, the plan is to take her back to Adelaide for a stakes race in April.
