Gun New Zealand sire SAVABEEL proved yet again on Saturday what a great stallion he is developing into with Pasadena Girl (pictured) winning the listed Listed Talindert Stakes (1100m) at Flemington.

A $25,000 yearling with a stayers pedigree, she upstaged a hot field to post her first career win from as many starts.

"She’s done everything above what she should be doing at this point of her career. She’s an immature Savabeel filly but she’s always shown a tad of brilliance at home" said Moody.

Speaking about the filly’s modest cost as a yearling at last years Melbourne Premier Sale, Moody said there was nothing physically wrong with her.

"She was a Savabeel probably in the wrong sale" said Moody.

"Everybody was looking for big, strong VOBIS horses and she slipped through the cracks.  We try and buy 10 to 20 Savabeels each year but this year we can’t afford to buy then because everyone has woken to it. He (Savabeel) is a terrific stallion" said Moody.

Whilst the Savabeel yearlings averaged NZ$182,000 at this years NZ Karaka Premier Sale, history will end up showing that the best ones are the cheaper ones! Savabeel's star mare LUCIA VALENTINA only cost NZ$60,000 and PASADENA GIRL cost $25,000.

So why are we ranting and raving on about Savabeel fillies? Well, we have limited shares left in our Savabeel filly (pictured below) which we secured for $110,000 at this years Magic Millions Sale. She was another Savabeel in the WRONG SALE! She is incredibly good value so don't hesitate to call in to inspect her.
