The stable is having a great run at the moment with a steady flow of winners. The stable now sits 12th on the Trainers Premiership with 30 winners at a strike rate of 17.65%.

This week we saw BLACK STARDOM win at Mornington (Metro Meeting) and VIOLENT SNOW get up for a gutsy win at Moe. Both horses went around at good odds and hopefully their owners filled their pockets with the winnings.

BLACK STARDOM (pictured) was previously trained in New Zealand before being purchased to race in Australia. He started off with Bendigo trainer Kym Hann before moving to JWR in Janaury. He is by little known Japanese sire Painted Black who shuttled to New Zealand for a couple of seasons.

He is raced by the owners of the Dromana Hotel and Grand Hotel in Mornington so I am sure the beers were flowing on Wednesday night after his win. He looks a horse with good upside especially when he stretches out to 2000m and possibly beyond. He is bred to run a trip but is still learning to relax and settle so we wont be rushing him up in distance.

VIOLENT SNOW (pictured) looks a nice filly in the making. She was sensational on debut winning at Sale, flopped at the Valley when nothing went right but bounced back yesterday with a win against the older horses. Not many 3yo fillies beat the older horses so the win was full of merit.

She is another by a little known stallion. Her father VOLITANT (Flying Spur) was a handy 1400m horse who won the Victoria Handicap and for a budget stallion, he is doing a really good job. We train a number of his stock and most of them get to the races and win. Brahms Prospector is another one in our stable by Volitant which has won a couple of races.

Well done to Ross and Rod Bradshaw who bred and race Violent Snow.
