Exciting 4 year old gelding SINGLE DAYS has always been held in very high regard by the stable and it was great to see him back in the winners circle at Sale yesterday after enduring a frustrating 12 months of injuries.

Having only his 5th career start, the son of Not A Single Doubt showed everyone what he is capable of with a scintillating win in the 1000m Showcase Race. Ridden by Ben Melham, Single Days looked in all sorts of trouble half way down the straight.

"Brad Rawiller did a great job to keep us in a pocket but thankfully Benny was able to push out just in time. He hasn't had a whole lot of luck in his races so I was very relieved when Ben finally got out. He sprinted like a top class horses and rounded them up in a few strides" smiled trained Jason Warren.

"He is an absolute tank and has probably been too heavy for his own good especially when he was a colt. He has soft bones and has been plagued by shin soreness and stress fractures which has really restricted him. We have to manage him very carefully so fingers crossed he remains sound for the rest of the preparation".

"If he stays in one piece, he is a group horse in the making. The only other horse which I have trained with his turn of foot is Bel Sprinter. We can only hope he reaches the same level" remarked Warren.

Single Days was purchased for $130,000 from the 2012 Melbourne Premier Sale and races for a great bunch of owners who have been extremely patient with him and thoroughly deserve yesterday's success. Congratulations to Brian Toohey, Frank Nigro, Steve Benson, Ian Garvey, Harry Ulpen, Paul Garvey, Gary Davies, Sam Davies (our fabulous office manager!) and Graham Horne.
