JWR SECURE TWO MAGIC FILLIES
Jan 10, 2015
STEP ASIDE BOYS, THIS FILLY IS FOR THE GIRLS ONLY!
Absolutely delighted to buy our first ever Snitzel filly on Day 2 of the Magic Millions Sale for $170,000. If all goes to plan, this filly will be back on the Gold Coast this time next year lining up in the $2 million Magic Millions 2yo Classic!
Like all the top Snitzel fillies (Sweet Idea (pictured), Snitzerland and this years Golden Slipper favourite Giulietta), she has plenty of power and muscle and looks like a real running machine. She has a great backend, deep girth, clean legs and should go early.
She is bred on the same cross as Group 1 winner Sizzling being out of a General Nediym mare. General Nediym was a brilliant sprinter and great stallion himself. He won the Magic Millions in 1997 and then sired two Magic Millions winners in Regimental Girl and Military Gal.
You don't find many Snitzel fillies which are Super Vobis and Vobis Gold qualified but this filly was born and raised at Lauriston Farm in Victoria and thus qualifies for Super Vobis scheme which is a huge bonus for her owners.
The Magic Millions 2yo Classic is worth $2million and there is now an additional $500,000 bonus if your horse is 100% owned by women which has been a great initiative set up by Magic Millions. To take advantage of this offer, we need to find a bunch of lucky girls to own and race this filly. So boys, step aside and get your wives, partners and girlfriends involved.
As part of the women's syndicate, we will be holding a luncheon at a local Red Hill winery in March this year so all the girls can get together and meet each other ahead of next years race.

WHO SAID YOU CAN'T FIND AN OAKS FILLY ON THE GOLD COAST
With most buyers at Magic Millions looking for precocious early types, they often overlook the colts and fillies by the classic staying sires. That's exactly what happened when Lot 309 walked into the sale ring. By champion New Zealand stallion SAVABEEL, this filly would have made close to $200k in New Zealand so I was lucky to pick her up for only $110k.
I have looked at many Savabeel fillies over the past few years and she is an absolute beauty. She covers good ground, has plenty of size and scope and has a loose fluid walk which all the good Savabeels seem to possess.
Savabeel is fast establishing himself as a champion staying sire which was highlighted with his daughter Lucia Valentina winning last year's Caulfield Cup and his son Brambles running 3rd in the race.
From his first seven crops to race, he has produced 6 Group 1 winners and 35 stakes winners. In New Zealand, only his father ZABEEL and grandsireSIR TRISTRAM had sired more stakes winners at the equivalent stage of their careers.
Interestingly, 4 of Savabeel's 6 Group 1 winners have been fillies and mares with Lucia Valentina (pictured below) his most recent star having claimed 3 Group 1 races in the last year (Vinery Stakes, Turnbull Stakes and Caulfield Cup).
This filly was bred in Victoria by boutique stud farm Rangal Park who sent Homeland Sheila across to New Zealand to be served by Savabeel. Like the Snitzel filly, this filly is Super Vobis and Vobis Gold qualified which is extremely rare for a Savabeel. She comes from Rangal Park's best family which is littered with group and stakes horses such as Northeast Sheila, Jacqueline Rouge, Celebrity Girl and Generalife.
