It took seven starts but big SISTER CLOSE finally put it all together and broke through for an overdue win at Pakenham last week.

Back in trip, a bigger track, a few gear changes and the ice cold hands of Damien Lane did the trick and Sister couldn't have been more impressive!

"Whilst she has always been a big strong mature filly, she has been very immature mentally which has been her  her undoing. She is still raw and green but is slowly getting the idea and her best is still to come. Her brother (DANGER CLOSE) took a while to win his first race but just got better with age. I am hoping that this filly does the same" smiled Warren.

The plan was to jump and let her run along in front but as things rarely go to plan in racing! She was only fair away so Damien Lane sat her in behind the leaders and rode for luck. The good jockeys make the right decisions and have an ability to think there way through situations. When Sister didn't begin brilliantly, Lane didn't panicked and went to Plan B. He got the gap when he needed it and Sister burst clear to win with plenty in reserve. It was a 10/10 ride.

Congrats to all her owners who have been long time supporters of the stable and a pleasure to train for. Sister still has a way to go before she matches her big brother but she's up and away and only needs another 5 wins to equal Danger's record!
